A conversation with my children

April 24, 2010

Setting the scene: In the van, having just picked up the oldest from school a few days ago.

Son 1: Mom, do you know what KFC stands for?

Me: Yes, I do. Why?

Son 1: What is it?

Me: Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Son 1: (laughing)

Me: What is so funny?

Son 1: You’ll see.

(Pick up Son 2 from his school. Son 1 turns to him)

Son 1: Tell Mom what KFC stands for.

Son 2: You don’t know Mom?

Me: Apparently not. What does it stand for?

Son 2: Killing Fat Chickens.

Me: Oh, Lordy.

And folks, that is a typical conversation on any given day during carpool time.
